Migration
1 day to the shutdownLeaving Project Online before September 30, 2026
Microsoft is switching Project Online off on September 30, 2026. There is no grace period and no read-only mode: whatever is still in there on that day becomes unreachable. Three steps and you are out.
Export from Project Online
In Project Web App open each project and save it as .mpp, or download it with Project Professional. Do this while the service is still running.
Import into Gantify
Drop the .mpp into a new workspace. We parse tasks, dependencies, calendars, resources, assignments and baselines, then show you a report of anything we could not map.
Check the numbers and carry on
Compare the critical path and the project finish date with the old plan, invite your team, keep scheduling. Nobody needs a licence to open it.
Questions people actually ask
Is Gantify really free?
Yes. The scheduling app, the .mpp import and unlimited collaborators are free during early access. If we ever add a paid plan, the projects you already have stay readable.
Can it really open Microsoft Project files?
Yes: .mpp from Project 2003 onwards, plus Project XML and Primavera .xer. The import report names every field we could not map instead of dropping it in silence.
What exactly happens to Project Online on 30 September 2026?
Microsoft retires the service. There is no extension and no read-only period, so the data has to be exported before that date.
Do I have to install anything?
No. Gantify is a web application: no desktop client, no plug-in, no admin rights needed.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in the European Union (Germany). You can delete the workspace in one click.
